About SI Partners, Inc.

Experience and Qualifications

SI Partners, Inc. was formed in January 1999 to provide concession consulting services to airports. Over the years, SI Partners, Inc. has concentrated its efforts on advising airports on concession matters, specifically in the following areas: location and space allocation plans, concept development, outreach programs, concession master plans, solicitation and contract documents, proposal evaluations, and leasing strategies. The firm’s principals, Susan Schooley and O. B. Schooley, each have more than 35 years of experience in airport concessions, project management, and airport operations. Over the years, Susan and O. B. have gained industry-wide recognition as experts in developing world-class concession programs that are based on sound business principles, while reflecting the unique local culture of the community through creative designs and themes.
SI Partners, Inc.’s airport concession services combine the latest trends in concessions with solid statistical analysis and up-front planning. SI Partners, Inc. works with airport sponsors to develop achievable plans that generate substantial incremental revenues. SI Partners, Inc. understands the discerning traveling public, including their habits, changing lifestyles, concession needs and preferences, dependence on social media and technology, and much more. We also understand airport operations, the food and beverage and retail industries, and the importance of reflecting the local community in the program. Every day we review industry publications and are on social media and the internet to obtain information about food and beverage and retail trends and current events in the industry, both within airports and operators on the street. We believe it is important to be on top of trends.
Through its extensive experience, SI Partners, Inc. has developed concession programs aimed at not only optimizing sales and revenue potential but also satisfying all the goals of the airport and local community. Our firm’s approach to airport concession planning is entrepreneurial in nature. SI Partners, Inc. understands that the primary function of the airport is to move passengers efficiently to and from airplanes. However, SI Partners, Inc.’s research substantiates that the passenger’s experience is greatly enhanced and more memorable when the airport appeals to the passenger’s senses through creative and exciting concession offerings and designs, including an excellent mix of national and local concepts.
Utilizing its airport concession planning experience, SI Partners, Inc. employs a quantitative approach to airport concession planning. This method assures that the appropriate amount of space allocated to the concession program is supported by the airport’s traffic projections, while addressing passenger characteristics and demographics. National, local, and international consumer trends and evolving passenger preferences are taken into consideration. In addition, specific elements such as the size of seating and customer queuing areas, infrastructure requirements, and the location and size of support space are included in the planning process. SI Partners, Inc.’s experience in working with a variety of leasing/management methodologies has resulted in innovative approaches to structuring concession arrangements. SI Partners, Inc.’s focus on the guest experience has provided its clients with programs incorporating national and local operators, national and local concepts, fresh foods with creative presentations, creative design themes, and comforting amenities. SI Partners, Inc. has also developed outreach programs and workshops designed to attract non-traditional, local, and small businesses to the airport.
